Date for ICFM Conference announced

We are delighted to announce that the 24th ICFM Annual Members’ Conference, this year generously hosted by BMW / MINI, will be held on Tuesday 8th November at the MINI Plant Oxford.

The Conference theme this year is ‘Using Technology to Reduce Costs’  and we will once again be running our popular in-dialogue’ session, which will be supported by an expert panel of guest speakers, who will no doubt provide all in attendance with a valuable insight into the key topics of the day.

Record full house at ‘Fleet 2020’ ICFM Conference

A record capacity of 197 delegates turned up at the 23rd Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM) Conference at the Williams Conference Centre, Grove, Oxfordshire to hear guest speakers, Sally Gunnell OBE, former British track and field athlete who won a Gold medal in the 400m hurdles at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, and Charley Boorman, TV presenter, travel writer and actor, provide motivational and illuminating talks. ICFM recognises training achievers at ‘Fleet 2020’ Conference

At the Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM) ‘Fleet 2020’ conference held today, 34 members were recognised for their achievements in gaining ICFM qualifications – 12 new holders of the Introductory Certificate in Car Fleet Management, 16 new holders of the Certificate in Car Fleet Management and six new holders of the Diploma in Car Fleet Management. Certificate holder, Kelly Butler of Surrey Police also received the Peter Moxon Award for the Training Achiever of the Year.

Six ICFM members attain Diploma and made Fellows of the Institute

Six members of the Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM) attained their Diploma in Car Fleet Management during 2013. As a result, all six automatically have become Fellows of the Institute. Paul Baldock of the Driving Standards Agency, recipient of the Introductory Certificate and Certificate in Car Fleet Management during 2013, won the Peter Moxon Award for Training Achiever of the Year while the Career Development Award was presented to Georgina Smith of Healthcare at Home who also completed both the Introductory Certificate and Certificate qualifications in the same year. The awards’ presentations were made at the recent annual national members’ conference held at Jaguar Land Rover’s headquarters in Gaydon.

Over half of the record 195 attendees responded to the survey.

A record 195 attendees helped the Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM) celebrate 20 years at its annual national members’ conference held on November 13 at the MINI Plant Oxford. The event showcased the Institute’s heritage to the present day and debated what might happen over the next 20 years through a lively morning session devoted to ‘Key Trends in Urban Mobility’. Guest speaker, Murray Walker OBE, the veteran motorsports presenter and iconic voice of Formula One, entertained in the afternoon with his many anecdotes and also presented the training awards. Seven ICFM members attain Diploma, six with Distinction

Alan Myers - A Tribute

Alan Myers, who sadly passed away last Thursday, aged just 54, was not a name immediately associated with the Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM), but he was nonetheless a key figure back in late 1991 when it was Alan’s and the late Peter Moxon’s original vision which created the concept that enabled the formation of the ICFM the following year.
