Membership grades

Following an initial application, membership is confirmed at a grade appropriate to the role, qualifications and achievements of the applicant within the profession.

There are four levels of membership spanning the different levels of experience and qualification in vehicle fleet management.

Affiliate - AffICFM

For those about to enter the profession or having less than six months' experience in any role associated with fleet administration, fleet service support provision or employee mobility management.

Associate - AICFM

For those with more than six months' experience in any role associated with fleet administration, fleet management, fleet service support provision or employee mobility management. Holders of the Introductory Certificate in Car Fleet Management.

Member - MICFM

For those who can demonstrate, by reference to their record of success and other professional qualifications, that they are totally conversant with all aspects of the five units of competence covered in the Certificate in Car Fleet Management syllabus and who have proven ability in the operational management of a substantial company car fleet. Holders of the Certificate in Car Fleet Management.

Fellow - FICFM

For full Members of the Institute who have successfully completed the advanced course of study leading to the Diploma in Car Fleet Management and have spent an established period in the strategic management of a vehicle fleet (normally for five years), can demonstrate evidence of personal achievement in vehicle fleet management and have made a contribution to the professionalism of the industry. Holders of the Diploma in Car Fleet Management.
